Job description

Well-Child Visits: Conducting routine well-child visits to monitor growth and development, assess physical and mental health, and provide preventive care such as vaccinations, screenings, and health education. Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnosing and treating a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions affecting children, including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal disorders, skin conditions, and developmental delays. Immunizations: Administering vaccines according to recommended schedules to protect children from vaccine-preventable diseases and ensuring that parents understand the importance of immunizations. Developmental Assessments: Conducting developmental screenings and assessments to identify any developmental delays or concerns early on and providing appropriate interventions or referrals to specialists as needed. Counseling and Education: Providing counseling and guidance to parents on various topics such as nutrition, breastfeeding, sleep habits, behavior management, and injury prevention to promote healthy development and lifestyle habits. Chronic Disease Management: Managing chronic medical conditions in children such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and ADHD through ongoing monitoring, medication management, and coordination of care with specialists. Acute Care: Providing timely and appropriate care for acute illnesses and injuries in children, including fever, cough, ear infections, sprains, fractures, and minor wounds, and coordinating follow-up care as needed. Adolescent Health: Addressing the unique healthcare needs and concerns of adolescents, including puberty, sexuality, mental health issues, substance abuse, and reproductive health, in a confidential and supportive manner. Screenings and Assessments: Performing screenings and assessments for common pediatric conditions such as vision and hearing problems, developmental delays, behavioral disorders, and learning disabilities. Referrals and Collaborations: Collaborating with other healthcare professionals, including pediatric specialists, psychologists, social workers, and educators, to provide comprehensive care and support for children with complex medical, developmental, or social needs. Advocacy: Advocating for the health and well-being of children within the healthcare system and the community, raising awareness of pediatric health issues, and promoting policies and programs that benefit children and families. Continuing Education: Engaging in ongoing professional development and training to stay current with advances in pediatric medicine, evidence-based practices, and healthcare regulations, and maintaining board certification through regular assessments.
