Patient Consultation and Evaluation: Conducting thorough medical histories and physical examinations to assess patients' musculoskeletal conditions. Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRI scans, and CT scans to aid in diagnosis. Treatment Planning: Developing personalized treatment plans based on the diagnosis and severity of the condition. This may include prescribing medications, recommending physical therapy, or planning surgical interventions. Surgical Interventions: Performing surgical procedures to treat musculoskeletal injuries or conditions. Examples include fracture repairs, joint replacements (such as hip or knee replacements), arthroscopic surgeries (for knee, shoulder, or ankle injuries), spinal surgeries, and corrective surgeries for deformities. Non-Surgical Treatments: Providing non-operative treatments such as casting, splinting, injections (such as corticosteroids or viscosupplementation), and orthotic devices to manage musculoskeletal disorders and promote healing. Postoperative Care: Monitoring patients' recovery and rehabilitation following surgical procedures. Providing guidance on postoperative care, physical therapy exercises, and activity modifications to optimize recovery outcomes. Emergency Care: Responding to orthopaedic emergencies such as traumatic injuries (fractures, dislocations), sports injuries, and acute infections affecting the musculoskeletal system. Collaboration with Healthcare Team: Consulting and collaborating with other healthcare professionals including primary care physicians, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and radiologists to ensure comprehensive patient care.
