Job description

Menu Planning and Development: Designing menus that feature a variety of traditional North Indian dishes, including curries (like butter chicken, paneer tikka masala), tandoori specialties (like naan, tandoori chicken), kebabs, biryanis, chaats, and regional desserts (like gulab jamun, rabri). Recipe Creation and Innovation: Developing and refining recipes to maintain authenticity while also experimenting with flavors and ingredients to enhance taste and presentation. Ingredient Selection and Procurement: Sourcing fresh and high-quality ingredients essential for North Indian cuisine, such as spices (including garam masala, cumin, and coriander), dairy products (like ghee, yogurt, paneer), meats (like lamb, chicken), and seasonal vegetables. Food Preparation and Cooking: Expertly preparing and cooking North Indian dishes using traditional techniques, such as marinating, grilling (in tandoor ovens), tempering (tadka), and slow cooking (dum cooking for biryanis and stews). Presentation and Plating: Ensuring that dishes are presented attractively and plated in accordance with North Indian culinary traditions, which often emphasize garnishing with fresh herbs, serving in copper or brass utensils, and balancing flavors and textures. Maintaining Hygiene and Safety Standards: Adhering to strict hygiene and food safety standards in the kitchen, including proper storage, handling, and preparation of ingredients to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Team Leadership and Training: Leading a team of kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and consistent quality. North Indian Chefs may train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen assistants in traditional cooking methods and techniques. Menu Adaptation and Special Requests: Accommodating special dietary requests or preferences while maintaining the authenticity of North Indian cuisine. This may include offering vegan, gluten-free, or customized dishes. Customer Interaction and Feedback: Interacting with customers to understand their preferences, gather feedback on dishes, and ensure a positive dining experience.
