Menu Planning: Designing menus that feature a variety of traditional North Indian dishes, including kebabs, tandoori items, curries, biryanis, bread (roti, naan, paratha), and sweets (like gulab jamun and jalebi). Ingredient Selection: Selecting high-quality ingredients, spices, and herbs essential for North Indian cooking, ensuring authenticity and freshness in flavors. Food Preparation: Mastering the techniques for preparing various North Indian dishes, such as marinating meats for tandoori items, making spice blends (masalas), and simmering gravies to achieve rich and complex flavors. Cooking Techniques: Utilizing traditional cooking methods like tandoor cooking, sautéing, tempering (tadka), and slow cooking (dum) to bring out the authentic flavors and textures of North Indian cuisine. Flavor Balancing: Understanding the balance of flavors in North Indian dishes, including the use of spices like cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, and kasuri methi to create depth and complexity. Presentation: Paying attention to the presentation of dishes, including garnishing with fresh herbs (coriander, mint), drizzling with cream or ghee, and serving with accompaniments like raita, chutney, and pickles. Menu Customization: Catering to dietary preferences and restrictions by offering vegetarian, non-vegetarian, and vegan options, and adapting traditional recipes to meet modern tastes and trends. Kitchen Management: Overseeing the smooth operation of the kitchen, including managing inventory, controlling food costs, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
