Neurological Evaluation and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive neurological assessments and diagnostic tests to evaluate patients' neurological function, identify neurologic disorders, and determine the underlying causes of symptoms. Perform detailed medical history reviews, neurological examinations, and diagnostic studies such as imaging tests (MRI, CT scans) and neurophysiological studies (electroencephalography, nerve conduction studies) to diagnose neurological conditions. Management of Neurological Disorders: Diagnose and manage a wide range of neurological disorders and conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, neuropathies, movement disorders, headaches, and neurodegenerative diseases. Develop individualized treatment plans based on patients' medical history, symptoms, diagnostic findings, and disease progression. Neurological Procedures and Interventions: Perform specialized neurological procedures, interventions, and treatments to manage neurological conditions and improve patients' quality of life. This may include lumbar puncture (spinal tap), nerve blocks, botulinum toxin injections for spasticity or dystonia, deep brain stimulation (DBS) for movement disorders, or nerve and muscle biopsies. Stroke Care and Management: Provide acute stroke care, thrombolytic therapy (clot-busting medication), and neurointerventional procedures (mechanical thrombectomy) for patients presenting with acute ischemic stroke. Offer stroke prevention strategies, risk factor modification, and rehabilitation services to minimize disability and optimize recovery for stroke survivors. Epilepsy Management: Evaluate and manage patients with epilepsy, a neurological disorder characterized by recurrent seizures. Perform seizure assessments, EEG monitoring, and diagnostic evaluations to determine seizure type, frequency, and underlying causes. Prescribe antiepileptic medications, ketogenic diet therapy, or epilepsy surgery for seizure control and management. Movement Disorders Management: Diagnose and manage movement disorders such as Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and Huntington's disease. Offer pharmacological treatments, deep brain stimulation (DBS) therapy, botulinum toxin injections, and multidisciplinary care to alleviate symptoms, improve motor function, and enhance quality of life for patients with movement disorders. Neuromuscular Disorders Management: Evaluate and manage patients with neuromuscular disorders, including peripheral neuropathies, myopathies, motor neuron diseases, and neuromuscular junction disorders. Perform nerve conduction studies, electromyography (EMG), muscle biopsies, and genetic testing to diagnose neuromuscular conditions and guide treatment decisions. Headache and Pain Management: Assess and manage patients with chronic headaches, migraines, and other chronic pain syndromes. Offer pharmacological treatments, behavioral therapies, lifestyle modifications, and interventional pain procedures to alleviate pain, improve function, and enhance quality of life for patients with chronic pain conditions. Memory and Cognitive Disorders Care: Evaluate and manage patients with memory disorders, cognitive impairment, and neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, and frontotemporal dementia. Offer cognitive assessments, diagnostic evaluations, and symptomatic treatments to optimize cognitive function and support patients and caregivers affected by dementia. Neurorehabilitation Services: Coordinate and provide neurorehabilitation services, including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and cognitive rehabilitation, to promote recovery, functional independence, and quality of life for patients with neurological disabilities or impairments. Develop personalized rehabilitation plans tailored to patients' specific needs, abilities, and treatment goals. Telemedicine and Remote Monitoring: Utilize telemedicine platforms, remote monitoring technologies, and virtual care solutions to provide remote consultations, follow-up visits, and disease management services for patients with neurological conditions. Offer telemedicine consultations, medication management, and patient education to improve access to neurological care and support continuity of care for patients in remote or underserved areas.
