Job description

Prepared Environment: Set up and maintain a carefully designed Montessori classroom environment that is orderly, inviting, and conducive to independent exploration and learning. Arrange materials and activities on low shelves, organized by subject areas, to promote easy access and encourage children to make choices and engage in purposeful work. Observation and Guidance: Observe children's interests, abilities, and developmental stages to identify their individual needs and learning styles. Provide guidance and support as children select activities, explore materials, and work independently or in small groups, fostering autonomy, self-regulation, and intrinsic motivation. Montessori Materials: Introduce children to a wide range of Montessori materials and learning activities designed to promote sensorial exploration, language development, mathematical understanding, cultural awareness, and practical life skills. Demonstrate the proper use of materials, present lessons in a clear and sequential manner, and encourage children to manipulate, explore, and discover concepts through hands-on experiences. Language Development: Create opportunities for language-rich experiences, including storytelling, conversations, vocabulary-building activities, phonetic awareness exercises, and language immersion. Provide a print-rich environment with access to books, labels, writing materials, and language materials such as sandpaper letters, moveable alphabets, and language cards. Mathematical Exploration: Introduce mathematical concepts through concrete, hands-on materials such as number rods, counting beads, sandpaper numerals, and mathematical operations trays. Guide children in exploring mathematical relationships, patterns, sequencing, and problem-solving activities, promoting a deep understanding of mathematical principles. Sensorial Exploration: Provide opportunities for sensorial exploration and refinement of the senses through activities such as sensory bins, geometric solids, color tablets, sound cylinders, and tactile materials. Encourage children to discriminate, compare, categorize, and classify sensory stimuli, developing their perceptual skills and cognitive abilities. Cultural and Science Exploration: Introduce children to concepts in geography, history, science, and cultural studies through hands-on materials, globes, maps, puzzles, timelines, and cultural artifacts. Foster an appreciation for diversity, global awareness, and respect for different cultures, traditions, and natural environments. Practical Life Skills: Provide opportunities for children to engage in practical life activities such as pouring, spooning, washing, polishing, sewing, and gardening. Foster independence, concentration, coordination, and fine motor skills through purposeful, real-life tasks that promote self-care, care of the environment, and care of others. Social and Emotional Development: Create a supportive, nurturing classroom community where children feel valued, respected, and empowered to express themselves and interact with others.
