Job description

Supply Chain Management: Coordinate the flow of materials, products, and information across the supply chain, from suppliers to manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and ultimately to customers. Transportation: Arrange transportation services for the movement of goods, including selecting carriers, scheduling shipments, and tracking delivery progress. Optimize transportation routes and modes to minimize costs and meet delivery deadlines. Warehousing and Inventory Management: Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and managing inventory. Implement inventory control measures to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and prevent stockouts or overstock situations. Order Fulfillment: Process customer orders and coordinate order fulfillment activities, including picking, packing, and shipping. Ensure accurate and on-time delivery of orders to meet customer expectations. Distribution Network Management: Design and manage distribution networks to efficiently distribute products to customers across geographic regions. Evaluate distribution channels, warehouse locations, and delivery routes to optimize efficiency and reduce lead times. Logistics Planning and Strategy: Develop logistics strategies, plans, and policies to support business objectives and customer requirements. Forecast demand, plan capacity, and allocate resources effectively to meet operational goals. Vendor Management: Collaborate with suppliers and third-party logistics providers to negotiate contracts, establish service level agreements, and ensure compliance with quality and performance standards. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities in the supply chain, such as disruptions in transportation, natural disasters, or geopolitical events. Develop contingency plans and mitigation strategies to minimize the impact of risks on operations. Technology Integration: Implement logistics technology solutions, such as transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and inventory management software, to automate processes, improve visibility, and enhance efficiency. Performance Measurement and Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the performance of logistics operations. Analyze data on transportation costs, delivery times, inventory levels, and customer satisfaction to identify areas for improvement and optimization. Compliance and Regulations: Ensure compliance with transportation regulations, customs requirements, and trade restrictions governing the movement of goods across borders. Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations that may impact logistics operations. Continuous Improvement: Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance logistics processes, reduce costs, and increase efficiency. Engage in benchmarking, best practice sharing, and process optimization to drive operational excellence.
