Job description

Supply Chain Management: Overseeing the entire supply chain process, from procurement and production to distribution and delivery, to ensure the timely and cost-effective movement of goods and materials. Inventory Management: Monitoring and managing inventory levels, optimizing stock levels to meet demand while minimizing excess inventory and carrying costs, and implementing inventory control measures to prevent stockouts and shortages. Transportation Planning: Planning and coordinating transportation logistics, including selecting the appropriate modes of transportation (such as trucks, ships, trains, or airplanes), routing shipments, and optimizing transportation routes to minimize costs and transit times. Warehousing and Distribution: Managing warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping goods, optimizing warehouse layout and storage systems for efficient inventory management, and coordinating distribution activities to meet customer demand. Order Fulfillment: Ensuring timely and accurate order processing and fulfillment, coordinating with sales, production, and distribution teams to meet customer orders, and tracking order status and delivery timelines to provide real-time updates to customers. Logistics Technology: Utilizing logistics software, transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other technology tools to streamline logistics operations, track shipments, optimize routes, and improve overall efficiency and visibility across the supply chain. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and disruptions in the supply chain, such as transportation delays, natural disasters, or geopolitical issues, and developing contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies to minimize impact and ensure business continuity. Quality Control: Implementing quality control measures and standards to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and safety of products throughout the supply chain, conducting inspections, audits, and quality checks at various stages of the logistics process. Cost Management: Analyzing logistics costs, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and negotiating contracts with suppliers, carriers, and service providers to optimize transportation rates, reduce expenses, and improve profitability. Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service and support to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and proactively communicating with customers to ensure their satisfaction and loyalty. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international regulations and trade laws governing logistics operations, customs clearance, import/export documentation, and transportation safety and security. Continuous Improvement: Identifying areas for process improvement, efficiency gains, and performance optimization within the logistics function, implementing best practices, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall logistics capabilities and competitiveness.
