Job description

Supply Chain Management: Coordinating the movement of goods and materials throughout the supply chain, from suppliers to manufacturers, distributors, retailers, and ultimately to customers. Managing the entire supply chain process to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of products. Inventory Management: Optimizing inventory levels to meet customer demand while minimizing carrying costs and stockouts. Monitoring inventory levels, forecasting demand, and implementing inventory control measures to ensure adequate stock availability. Transportation Management: Planning and managing transportation routes, modes, and carriers to optimize cost, efficiency, and service levels. Arranging shipments, scheduling pickups and deliveries, and tracking the movement of goods in transit. Warehousing and Distribution: Managing warehouse facilities and distribution centers to store, sort, and distribute goods. Organizing warehouse operations, managing inventory storage, and coordinating order fulfillment processes. Order Processing: Processing customer orders, including order entry, order picking, packing, and shipping. Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in order fulfillment to meet customer expectations and delivery deadlines. Packaging and Labeling: Designing and implementing packaging solutions to protect products during transit and storage. Ensuring compliance with packaging regulations, labeling requirements, and product handling guidelines. Information Systems and Technology: Utilizing logistics software, systems, and technologies to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Implementing logistics management systems, transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), and other tools to automate processes and track performance metrics. Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and vulnerabilities in the supply chain and implementing strategies to mitigate them. Assessing risks related to transportation delays, inventory shortages, natural disasters, and other disruptions, and developing contingency plans to ensure business continuity. Supplier and Vendor Management: Managing relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods and services. Negotiating contracts, monitoring supplier performance, and resolving issues or disputes as needed. Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring timely delivery of orders. Communicating with customers to provide order status updates, tracking information, and delivery notifications. Performance Measurement and Analysis: Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate logistics performance and identify areas for improvement. Analyzing data on transportation costs, inventory turnover, order fulfillment rates, and customer satisfaction to optimize logistics processes. Compliance and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, and requirements related to transportation, warehousing, and logistics operations. Adhering to customs regulations, trade laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations to minimize risk and maintain legal compliance.
