Job description

Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Identify hardware and software issues with laptops through diagnostic tests, customer descriptions, and error messages. Determine the root cause of technical problems affecting laptop performance. Hardware Repair and Replacement: Disassemble and reassemble laptops to repair or replace faulty hardware components such as motherboards, RAM, hard drives, keyboards, screens, and batteries. Ensure compatibility and functionality of replacement parts. Software Installation and Configuration: Install, update, and configure operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Linux) and software applications on laptops. Perform data transfers, backups, and restoration of files to ensure data integrity. Virus and Malware Removal: Detect and remove viruses, malware, spyware, and adware from laptops using antivirus software and security tools. Implement security measures to prevent future infections and protect user data. Data Recovery: Retrieve and recover data from damaged or corrupted hard drives, solid-state drives (SSDs), and storage devices. Use data recovery tools and techniques to restore lost files and ensure data confidentiality. Peripheral Setup and Configuration: Connect and configure peripherals such as printers, scanners, external drives, and wireless devices to laptops. Troubleshoot connectivity issues and ensure compatibility with laptop systems. Customer Service and Support: Provide technical support and assistance to customers or end-users experiencing laptop issues. Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to non-technical users. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of laptop repairs, service tickets, parts inventory, and customer interactions. Generate reports detailing repair activities, parts used, and service timelines. Quality Assurance: Conduct quality checks and testing procedures to verify the functionality and performance of repaired laptops. Ensure that laptops meet manufacturer specifications and industry standards. Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning laptop components, updating firmware, and applying system patches. Recommend preventive measures to prolong laptop lifespan and optimize performance. Training and Development: Stay updated with advancements in laptop technology, repair techniques, and diagnostic tools through training programs, workshops, and certifications. Enhance technical skills and knowledge to improve service delivery. Workplace Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards while handling electronic equipment, hazardous materials, and disposal of electronic waste (e-waste).
