Job description

Laboratory Equipment Maintenance: Ensuring that laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in good working condition. This includes routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting equipment issues, and coordinating repairs or replacements as needed. Experiment Setup and Preparation: Assisting researchers and scientists in setting up experiments by preparing materials, solutions, and equipment. Following established protocols and procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of experimental results. Sample Collection and Handling: Collecting, labeling, and processing samples for analysis according to specific protocols and procedures. Maintaining accurate records of sample information, including source, collection date, and storage conditions. Data Collection and Analysis: Performing experiments and tests as directed by researchers or scientists. Recording and analyzing experimental data, including measurements, observations, and test results. Using laboratory instruments and software for data collection and analysis. Quality Control and Assurance: Conducting quality control checks on laboratory equipment, materials, and procedures to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability of results. Following established quality assurance protocols and standards to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Safety Compliance: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment in the laboratory. This includes proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to safety procedures and regulations. Inventory Management: Monitoring laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables inventory levels. Ordering and restocking supplies as needed to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations. Keeping accurate records of inventory transactions and usage. Documentation and Reporting: Maintaining detailed records of experimental procedures, observations, and results. Documenting any deviations from established protocols and procedures. Preparing reports, summaries, and presentations of experimental findings for review and analysis. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with other members of the research team, including scientists, researchers, and other lab technicians. Communicating effectively to share information, coordinate activities, and troubleshoot issues as they arise. Professional Development: Staying informed about advances in laboratory techniques, equipment, and technologies. Participating in training programs, workshops, and continuing education opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in the field. Project Support: Providing support to research projects by assisting with experimental design, data interpretation, and troubleshooting. Contributing to the development of new experimental protocols and methodologies. Environmental Monitoring: Conducting environmental monitoring and testing as required by regulatory agencies or organizational policies. This may include monitoring air quality, water quality, and contamination levels in laboratory facilities.
