Job description

Sample Collection and Preparation: Collect samples from various sources, such as patients, research subjects, or environmental samples, and prepare them for analysis according to established protocols and procedures. Laboratory Testing and Analysis: Perform a variety of laboratory tests and analyses using specialized equipment, instruments, and techniques. This may include chemical analysis, microbiological testing, molecular assays, and physical measurements. Data Recording and Documentation: Record and document experimental procedures, observations, and results accurately and comprehensively. Maintain detailed laboratory notebooks, logbooks, and electronic records to ensure traceability and reproducibility of experiments. Quality Control and Assurance: Conduct quality control checks and calibrations of laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results. Adhere to quality assurance protocols and regulatory requirements to maintain the integrity of laboratory operations. Safety and Hazard Management: Adhere to safety protocols, procedures, and regulations to minimize risks associated with laboratory work. Handle hazardous materials, chemicals, and biological agents safely and dispose of waste properly. Instrument Maintenance and Troubleshooting: Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure proper functioning and performance. Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions or issues promptly to minimize downtime. Inventory Management: Manage laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables by monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed, and maintaining stock records. Ensure that adequate supplies are available for ongoing experiments and testing. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, researchers, and other laboratory personnel to coordinate experiments, share data, and discuss findings. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and project coordination. Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with laboratory regulations, standards, and safety guidelines, including Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and relevant regulatory requirements. Participate in audits and inspections as needed. Sample Tracking and Chain of Custody: Implement sample tracking systems and maintain chain of custody documentation for samples from collection to analysis. Ensure accurate labeling, handling, and storage of samples to prevent contamination or mix-up. Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot technical issues, experimental challenges, or unexpected results encountered during laboratory work. Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to develop solutions and overcome obstacles. Continuing Education and Training: Stay informed about advancements in laboratory techniques, technologies, and best practices through ongoing education, training programs, and professional development opportunities. Acquire new skills and knowledge to enhance performance and expertise.
