Job description

Sample Collection: Collecting and preparing specimens, such as blood, urine, tissue, or other bodily fluids, for analysis and testing. Laboratory Testing: Performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, microbiology, chemistry, immunology, and molecular biology tests, to analyze specimens and detect abnormalities or diseases. Instrument Operation: Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, and automated analyzers, to ensure accurate and reliable test results. Quality Control: Conducting quality control checks and calibration of laboratory equipment, following standard operating procedures (SOPs), and maintaining accurate records to ensure the reliability and accuracy of test results. Data Analysis: Analyzing test results, interpreting findings, and documenting observations accurately in laboratory reports, charts, and electronic medical records (EMRs). Troubleshooting: Identifying and troubleshooting technical issues or problems with laboratory equipment, procedures, or test results, and taking corrective actions as needed. Safety Compliance: Adhering to laboratory safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and biohazardous waste, to ensure a safe working environment. Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels of laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables, and ordering supplies as needed to maintain adequate stock levels and support laboratory operations. Collaboration: Collaborating with healthcare professionals, physicians, and researchers to provide laboratory support, share test results, and contribute to patient care, diagnosis, and treatment plans. Continuing Education: Keeping abreast of advances in laboratory technology, techniques, and procedures through continuing education, professional development, and participation in workshops or training programs. Skills: Technical Skills: Proficiency in laboratory techniques, procedures, and equipment operation, including pipetting, centrifugation, microscopy, chromatography, and molecular biology techniques. Attention to Detail: Keen attention to detail to perform laboratory tests accurately, document observations precisely, and maintain high-quality standards in laboratory procedures and practices. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to analyze test results, interpret findings, and troubleshoot technical issues or discrepancies in laboratory data.
