Job description

Sample Collection: Collect samples from patients, specimens, or experimental subjects, following established protocols and ensuring proper labeling and documentation. Laboratory Testing: Conduct a variety of laboratory tests and analyses on samples, including chemical, biological, hematological, immunological, and microbiological tests, using specialized equipment and techniques. Data Recording: Record and document test results accurately and thoroughly, maintaining detailed records and logs of experiments, procedures, and findings for analysis and interpretation. Quality Control: Perform quality control checks on laboratory equipment, reagents, and procedures to ensure accuracy, precision, and reliability of test results, and troubleshoot any issues or discrepancies as needed. Instrument Maintenance: Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of measurements, and perform routine maintenance and repairs as needed. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the laboratory, including handling hazardous materials and chemicals, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Research Support: Assist scientists, researchers, or medical professionals in conducting experiments, analyzing data, and interpreting results, and provide support for research projects and clinical trials as required. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage laboratory supplies, reagents, and equipment inventory, including ordering, stocking, and organizing materials, and maintaining records of usage and expenditures. Communication: Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and other healthcare professionals, providing updates on test results, sharing relevant information, and collaborating on projects and studies. Continuing Education: Stay informed about advances in laboratory techniques, technology, and scientific research by attending workshops, seminars, and training programs, and continuously update knowledge and skills in the field. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standards governing laboratory operations, including HIPAA regulations, CLIA (Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments) guidelines, and accreditation standards. Patient Interaction: Interact with patients to explain laboratory procedures, collect samples, and provide support and reassurance, demonstrating empathy, professionalism, and respect for patient confidentiality.
