Job description

Sample Collection and Processing: Collect specimens such as blood, urine, tissue, or other bodily fluids from patients following proper protocols and safety procedures. Prepare and label specimens for analysis or storage. Laboratory Testing: Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and analyses on patient samples using automated equipment, instruments, and manual techniques. This may include hematology, chemistry, microbiology, immunology, and molecular biology tests. Quality Control: Ensure accuracy and reliability of test results by following standardized procedures, calibrating equipment, and performing quality control checks. Monitor and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions or deviations from expected results. Data Analysis and Interpretation: Analyze test results, interpret findings, and prepare reports for healthcare providers or researchers. Communicate results accurately and promptly to facilitate patient care decisions or research outcomes. Instrument Maintenance: Maintain laboratory instruments and equipment in optimal condition by cleaning, calibrating, and performing routine maintenance tasks. Identify and report any issues or malfunctions requiring repair or replacement. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols, infection control practices, and regulatory requirements governing laboratory operations. Follow established protocols for handling hazardous materials, biohazardous waste, and sharps disposal. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain detailed records of laboratory tests, procedures, and results in electronic or paper-based systems. Ensure completeness, accuracy, and confidentiality of patient data and laboratory records. Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of reagents, supplies, and consumables needed for laboratory testing. Order and stock supplies as necessary to ensure uninterrupted workflow and efficient laboratory operations. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with healthcare providers, nurses, and other laboratory staff to coordinate sample collection, test requests, and result reporting. Communicate effectively to ensure clear understanding of testing requirements and expectations.
