Job description

Laboratory testing: Performing a variety of laboratory tests and experiments, including chemical, biological, or medical tests, according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and protocols. Sample preparation: Collecting, handling, and preparing specimens or samples for analysis, ensuring accuracy and adherence to safety protocols and quality standards. Instrumentation: Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and instruments, such as microscopes, centrifuges, spectrophotometers, chromatographs, and automated analyzers, to ensure accurate and reliable results. Data recording and analysis: Recording test results, observations, and data accurately and legibly, and analyzing data using computer software or manual calculations, and preparing reports or summaries as needed. Quality control and assurance: Conducting quality control checks, calibrating instruments, verifying test results, and ensuring compliance with quality assurance standards and regulatory requirements. Safety protocols: Following safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, or exposure to hazardous materials, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and handling chemicals and biological specimens safely. Inventory management: Maintaining inventory of laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables, ordering supplies as needed, and ensuring proper storage, handling, and disposal of materials. Documentation and record-keeping: Maintaining accurate and organized records of laboratory procedures, test results, and inventory transactions, and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements and regulatory standards. Collaboration and communication: Collaborating with other laboratory staff, researchers, or healthcare professionals to coordinate laboratory activities, share information, and troubleshoot technical issues, and communicating test results or findings effectively. Professional development: Engaging in continuous learning and professional development activities to stay updated on advances in laboratory technology, techniques, and best practices, and improving technical skills and knowledge.
