Job description

Sample Collection and Preparation: Collecting samples, such as blood, tissue, or fluids, from patients or research subjects. Properly preparing samples for analysis by labeling, centrifuging, and aliquoting as necessary. Conducting Experiments and Tests: Performing a wide range of laboratory tests and experiments using specialized equipment and techniques. This may include biochemical assays, microbiological cultures, molecular analyses, and other scientific procedures. Data Collection and Analysis: Recording and documenting experimental data accurately and meticulously. Analyzing experimental results, interpreting findings, and preparing reports or presentations summarizing the outcomes. Quality Control and Assurance: Implementing quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, precision, and reliability of laboratory results. Following established protocols and procedures to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements. Instrument Maintenance and Calibration: Operating, maintaining, and calibrating laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure proper functioning and accuracy of measurements. Troubleshooting equipment malfunctions and performing routine maintenance tasks as needed. Inventory Management: Monitoring and managing laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables. Ordering and restocking materials to maintain adequate inventory levels and prevent disruptions to laboratory operations. Safety and Hazardous Waste Management: Adhering to safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks of exposure to hazardous materials and biohazards. Properly handling, storing, and disposing of chemical and biological waste in accordance with regulatory requirements. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with other members of the research team, including scientists, clinicians, and fellow technicians. Communicating effectively to share experimental protocols, discuss results, and coordinate research activities. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate and organized records of laboratory procedures, protocols, and experimental data. Ensuring compliance with data management policies and confidentiality requirements. Continuing Education and Professional Development: Staying informed about advances in laboratory techniques, technologies, and scientific literature. Participating in training programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance skills and knowledge in the field.
