Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing mise en place for recipes. You may also assist with basic cooking tasks, such as boiling pasta or grilling meats. Dishwashing and Sanitization: Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using dishwashing equipment. Ensuring that all kitchen equipment and surfaces are kept clean and sanitized according to food safety standards. Cleaning and Maintenance: Cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, and appliances, including stoves, ovens, countertops, and refrigerators. Sweeping and mopping floors, emptying trash bins, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area. Stocking Supplies: Stocking and replenishing kitchen supplies, such as ingredients, condiments, spices, and disposable items. Keeping track of inventory levels and informing the chef or kitchen manager when supplies need to be reordered. Assisting with Food Service: Assisting with food service during meal periods, such as plating dishes, garnishing plates, and delivering food to the dining area. Ensuring that food is presented attractively and served promptly to customers. Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety and hygiene procedures at all times to prevent accidents, injuries, and foodborne illnesses. Following proper handling and storage techniques for food items and cleaning chemicals. Teamwork and Collaboration: Working collaboratively with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Communicating effectively with chefs, cooks, and servers to coordinate kitchen activities. Compliance with Regulations: Following all relevant health and safety regulations, including those related to food handling, sanitation, and personal hygiene. Maintaining cleanliness and compliance with health department standards during routine inspections. Assisting with Inventory Management: Assisting with inventory management tasks, such as receiving deliveries, checking the quality and quantity of incoming goods, and storing items properly in designated areas. Training and Development: Participating in training sessions and skill development opportunities to improve your knowledge and proficiency in kitchen operations. Learning new techniques and recipes to enhance your contribution to the kitchen team.
