Job description

Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and preparing ingredients according to recipes or instructions provided by the chef. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using commercial dishwashers. Ensure that all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and workstations are clean, sanitized, and organized at all times. Stocking and Inventory Management: Assist in stocking and replenishing food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen utensils. Monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and notify the chef or supervisor when supplies need to be reordered. Kitchen Maintenance: Assist with routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning kitchen equipment, degreasing surfaces, and emptying trash bins. Follow proper sanitation and safety procedures to maintain a clean and safe working environment. Assistance During Service: Support kitchen staff during busy service periods by fetching ingredients, transporting food trays, and assisting with plating and garnishing dishes. Help maintain the flow of food production and ensure timely delivery of orders to customers. Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety guidelines, hygiene standards, and sanitation regulations to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Follow proper handwashing procedures and wear appropriate protective gear, such as gloves and hairnets. Kitchen Organization: Keep the kitchen area organized and free of clutter by storing ingredients, utensils, and equipment in designated locations. Maintain a clean and orderly workspace to facilitate efficient food preparation and service. Assisting with Special Requests: Assist chefs with special requests or dietary accommodations for customers, such as preparing allergen-free meals or modifying dishes to meet specific dietary requirements. Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with kitchen staff, chefs, servers, and other team members to ensure smooth communication and coordination of tasks. Follow instructions from supervisors and support colleagues as needed. Learning and Development: Take initiative to learn new skills, techniques, and recipes by observing experienced kitchen staff and seeking opportunities for training and development.
