Job description

Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, and portioning ingredients according to recipes provided by the chefs. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment, as well as sanitizing food preparation surfaces and storage areas. Stocking Supplies: Ensure that the kitchen is adequately stocked with ingredients, spices, condiments, and other necessary supplies by monitoring inventory levels and restocking items as needed. Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Support the cooks and chefs during meal service by fetching ingredients, fetching and storing cooked food, and assisting with plating and garnishing dishes. Dishwashing: Operate dishwashing equipment to clean dishes, pots, pans, and other kitchen utensils efficiently. Ensure that dishes are properly washed, rinsed, and sanitized before being stored or reused. Kitchen Organization: Maintain organization in the kitchen by arranging equipment, utensils, and supplies in their designated storage areas. Follow proper storage procedures to ensure food safety and prevent cross-contamination. Trash Removal: Dispose of kitchen waste, including food scraps, packaging materials, and other refuse, in designated trash receptacles. Empty trash bins regularly to maintain cleanliness and prevent odors. Assisting with Special Events: Assist with the preparation and execution of special events, such as banquets, weddings, and parties, by setting up equipment, arranging table settings, and serving food as needed. Following Safety Procedures: Adhere to safety and hygiene protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves and aprons, and following proper food handling procedures to prevent accidents and injuries. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Communicate any issues or concerns to supervisors or senior staff members to address them promptly.
