Job description

Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing fruits, vegetables, and other ingredients. Follow recipes and instructions from chefs or cooks to prepare ingredients for cooking or assembly. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or using dishwashing machines. Ensure that all items are cleaned thoroughly and sanitized according to food safety standards. Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, and equipment regularly to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment. Kitchen Organization: Maintain kitchen organization by storing ingredients, utensils, and equipment in designated storage areas. Keep kitchen workstations clean, tidy, and well-stocked with necessary supplies and ingredients. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying supervisors when supplies need to be replenished. Assistance During Cooking: Assist chefs or cooks during food preparation and cooking processes as needed. Retrieve and measure ingredients, monitor cooking times, and perform other tasks to support the kitchen team and ensure that dishes are prepared according to recipes and quality standards. Food Service Support: Assist with food service tasks such as plating and garnishing dishes, portioning food items, and preparing meal trays for service. Coordinate with servers or waitstaff to ensure that food orders are prepared and served efficiently and accurately. Food Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times to prevent food contamination and ensure the safety of guests and staff. Follow proper handwashing procedures, wear appropriate protective clothing, and maintain personal hygiene standards while working in the kitchen. Trash Removal: Dispose of kitchen waste and garbage properly by emptying trash bins and recycling containers as needed. Keep trash storage areas clean and organized to prevent pest infestations and maintain a sanitary kitchen environment. Assistance with Special Events: Assist with the preparation and execution of special events, banquets, or catering functions. Help set up event spaces, transport food and equipment, and provide support to the kitchen and serving staff during events as directed by supervisors. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, supervisors, and other team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow in the kitchen. Collaborate with colleagues to address challenges, solve problems, and maintain a positive working environment. Training and Development: Participate in training programs or workshops to improve kitchen skills and knowledge.
