Job description

Food Preparation: Assist chefs and cooks in preparing ingredients for cooking, such as washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing vegetables and fruits. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or using dishwashing machines. Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen tools and equipment. Maintaining Kitchen Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, countertops, and floors to maintain a hygienic environment. Dispose of trash and recyclables properly. Stocking and Organizing Supplies: Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Monitor inventory levels and inform supervisors of shortages or replenishment needs. Assisting During Service: Support kitchen staff during meal service by fetching ingredients, utensils, and equipment as needed. Assist in plating dishes and ensuring food presentation standards are met. Kitchen Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to health and safety regulations and kitchen hygiene standards. Handle and store food items properly to prevent contamination and ensure food safety. Basic Food Preparation Tasks: Prepare simple dishes or components of dishes under the supervision of chefs or cooks. This may include preparing salads, sandwiches, or appetizers. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with kitchen staff and communicate effectively with chefs, cooks, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and coordination. Cleaning Dining Areas: Clean and sanitize dining tables, chairs, and dining areas as needed. Assist in setting up and clearing tables during meal service. Following Instructions: Follow instructions from supervisors and senior kitchen staff regarding food preparation techniques, portion sizes, and kitchen procedures. Assisting with Special Events: Support kitchen operations during special events, banquets, or catering functions by assisting in food preparation, setup, and cleanup. Adaptability and Flexibility: Adapt to changing demands and priorities in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Be willing to assist in various kitchen tasks as required.
