Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. You help in preparing ingredients for cooking or assembling dishes according to recipes and instructions provided by the chef or kitchen supervisor. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Washing dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using dishwashers or by hand. You ensure that all kitchen equipment and utensils are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly to maintain hygiene standards. Kitchen Organization: Assisting in organizing and maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen area. You stock and restock kitchen supplies, such as ingredients, spices, condiments, and utensils, and keep storage areas neat and orderly. Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Supporting cooks and chefs during food preparation and cooking processes. You may help in setting up cooking stations, retrieving ingredients, and assembling food orders under the supervision of experienced kitchen staff. Food Service Support: Assisting with food service tasks such as plating dishes, garnishing food items, and assembling orders for service. You help in ensuring that food presentation meets established standards and that orders are prepared accurately and promptly for serving. Cleaning and Sanitization: Cleaning kitchen surfaces, countertops, floors, and other areas to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. You follow cleaning protocols and hygiene practices to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses. Waste Management: Properly disposing of food waste, garbage, and recycling materials according to waste management guidelines. You separate and dispose of waste in designated bins and containers, and ensure that kitchen waste areas are kept clean and organized. Assisting with Inventory Management: Assisting in inventory management tasks such as receiving deliveries, checking stock levels, and rotating perishable items. You may help in storing and labeling ingredients properly and notifying kitchen supervisors when supplies need to be replenished. Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries in the kitchen. You follow proper handling and storage procedures for kitchen equipment, utensils, and hazardous materials, and report any safety hazards or concerns to kitchen management. Teamwork and Collaboration: Working collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient operations and timely completion of tasks. You communicate effectively with colleagues, follow instructions, and assist with tasks as needed to support the overall success of the kitchen team.
