Job description

Food Preparation Assistance: Assisting cooks and chefs with basic food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, peeling potatoes, and preparing ingredients. Preparing simple dishes, snacks, or garnishes under the supervision of kitchen staff. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils using industrial dishwashers or by hand. Ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, countertops, and food preparation areas. Inventory Management: Assisting with receiving, storing, and organizing food and kitchen supplies. Rotating stock and ensuring that ingredients are properly labeled and stored according to food safety standards. Kitchen Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, appliances, and tools. Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to supervisors for prompt resolution. Support During Service: Assisting in setting up and replenishing food stations, buffet tables, or serving areas during meal periods. Ensuring that food is presented attractively and replenishing items as needed. Trash Removal and Waste Management: Collecting and disposing of kitchen trash and recycling materials in designated containers. Following proper procedures for waste disposal and recycling to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards. Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Adhering to food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and sanitation guidelines at all times. Following protocols for personal hygiene, including wearing appropriate attire and maintaining a clean appearance. Assisting with Special Requests: Fulfilling special requests from customers or kitchen staff, such as preparing specific ingredients or modifying dishes. Ensuring that dietary restrictions or special instructions are communicated and followed during food preparation. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborating effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure efficient operations. Communicating any issues, concerns, or suggestions to supervisors or managers to improve kitchen efficiency and customer service. Learning and Development: Participating in training programs or workshops to enhance culinary skills, food safety knowledge, and job proficiency. Seeking opportunities for growth within the kitchen environment, such as cross-training in different roles or responsibilities.
