Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing salads or appetizers. You follow recipes and instructions provided by chefs or cooks to ensure consistency and quality in food preparation. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment using dishwashers or by hand. You ensure that all dishes are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly to maintain hygiene standards in the kitchen. Kitchen Organization: Organizing kitchen supplies, ingredients, and equipment to optimize workflow and efficiency. You stock and replenish ingredients, monitor inventory levels, and assist with inventory management to ensure that sufficient supplies are available for daily operations. Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Supporting cooks and chefs during food preparation and cooking processes. You may help with cooking tasks such as grilling, frying, or baking under the supervision of experienced kitchen staff. Food Service: Assisting with food service tasks such as plating dishes, garnishing food items, and assembling orders for service. You ensure that food presentation meets established standards and that orders are accurate and timely. Cleaning and Sanitization: Cleaning kitchen surfaces, countertops, and floors to maintain a clean and sanitary environment. You follow cleaning protocols and hygiene practices to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses. Waste Management: Properly disposing of food waste, garbage, and recycling materials according to waste management guidelines. You separate and dispose of waste in designated bins and containers, and ensure that kitchen waste areas are kept clean and organized. Safety and Hygiene Compliance: Adhering to safety and hygiene standards and regulations in the kitchen. You follow proper food handling procedures, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain cleanliness and orderliness in accordance with health and safety guidelines. Assisting with Special Events: Assisting with special events, banquets, or catering functions as needed. You may help with food preparation, setup, and cleanup tasks to support the successful execution of events and ensure customer satisfaction. Teamwork and Collaboration: Working collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to achieve common goals and objectives. You communicate effectively, assist colleagues when needed, and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
