Job description

Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, slicing, and dicing vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. Follow standardized recipes and instructions provided by the chef or kitchen supervisor. Dishwashing and Sanitization: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans using manual or mechanical dishwashing equipment. Ensure proper cleaning, sanitization, and storage of kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils to maintain hygiene and food safety standards. Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean and sanitize kitchen workstations, countertops, floors, and equipment to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment. Empty trash bins, dispose of waste, and maintain cleanliness in accordance with health and safety regulations. Ingredient Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen inventory. Check incoming deliveries for accuracy, quality, and freshness. Rotate stock and monitor inventory levels to minimize waste and ensure availability of ingredients. Assistance with Cooking: Assist cooks or chefs in preparing and cooking menu items as needed. Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors under supervision to support food production. Food Portioning and Plating: Portion and plate food items according to standardized recipes and portion sizes. Assist with garnishing and presentation of dishes to enhance visual appeal and customer satisfaction. Support during Service: Assist during meal service by replenishing supplies, condiments, and utensils as needed. Ensure that food is served promptly and accurately to customers or serving staff. Compliance with Food Safety Standards: Adhere to food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and sanitation procedures to prevent cross-contamination, foodborne illnesses, and health hazards. Follow proper handwashing, glove usage, and food handling practices at all times. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to coordinate activities and address any issues or concerns. Customer Service: Provide friendly and courteous service to customers and guests, both in the kitchen and dining areas. Assist with answering customer inquiries, taking orders, and addressing customer feedback or special requests. Adaptability and Flexibility: Adapt to changing priorities, work schedules, and demands in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
