Job description

Food Preparation: Assist with basic food preparation tasks, such as washing, peeling, and chopping fruits and vegetables, as well as portioning ingredients according to recipes. Help prepare salads, appetizers, and other menu items as directed by the chef or kitchen supervisor. Dishwashing: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using commercial dishwashing equipment. Ensure that all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly. Assist with kitchen cleanup and maintenance tasks to maintain a clean and hygienic environment. Kitchen Organization: Keep the kitchen and food storage areas organized and tidy at all times. Properly store and label food ingredients, supplies, and equipment. Assist with inventory management, including restocking ingredients and supplies as needed. Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Support cooks and chefs during food preparation and cooking tasks, such as retrieving ingredients, assembling food trays, and monitoring cooking times. Follow instructions and recipes provided by kitchen staff to ensure consistency and quality in food production. Stocking and Replenishing: Monitor inventory levels of kitchen supplies, including food ingredients, disposables, and cleaning products. Notify kitchen supervisors or purchasing staff when supplies need to be replenished. Assist with receiving and storing deliveries from suppliers. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, including cleaning countertops, equipment, and floors on a regular basis. Follow food safety guidelines and procedures to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food hygiene. Assisting with Special Events: Assist kitchen staff during special events, banquets, or catering functions by setting up serving stations, preparing food trays, and replenishing buffet displays. Work efficiently and cooperatively with other team members to meet service deadlines and guest expectations. Following Health and Safety Regulations: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including proper handling of food, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and safe operation of kitchen equipment. Report any safety hazards or incidents to kitchen supervisors or management. Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and other team members to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow. Work collaboratively as part of a team to achieve common goals and deliver excellent service to guests. Training and Development: Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance your skills and knowledge of kitchen operations, food safety practices, and sanitation procedures.
