Dishwashing: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or using dishwashing machines. Ensure that all items are cleaned thoroughly and sanitized according to health and safety standards. Keep dishwashing areas organized and stocked with cleaning supplies. Kitchen Cleaning: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, including countertops, sinks, stovetops, and food preparation surfaces. Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors regularly to prevent slips, trips, and falls. Dispose of trash and food waste properly. Stock Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies, ingredients, and kitchen equipment. Rotate stock, check expiry dates, and notify supervisors of any shortages or replenishment needs. Keep storage areas clean, organized, and free of clutter. Assistance to Cooks and Chefs: Support cooks and chefs in various kitchen tasks such as plating dishes, garnishing plates, and assembling food trays. Follow instructions and guidelines provided by kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely meal service. Inventory Management: Assist in conducting inventory counts and reconciling stock levels. Keep track of inventory movements, usage patterns, and wastage to minimize food waste and optimize inventory management practices. Safety and Hygiene: Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handwashing, personal hygiene, and food handling practices. Follow kitchen safety protocols, use protective equipment as required, and report any safety hazards or incidents to supervisors.
