Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and preparing salads or appetizers. Following recipes and instructions from the chef or kitchen supervisor. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans. Cleaning countertops, equipment, and appliances to ensure a safe and hygienic working environment. Stocking Supplies: Restocking kitchen supplies and ingredients as needed, including food items, condiments, spices, and cleaning supplies. Monitoring inventory levels and informing the kitchen supervisor of any shortages or replenishment needs. Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Supporting cooks and chefs during busy periods by fetching ingredients, fetching tools or equipment, and helping with plating and garnishing dishes. Collaborating with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service. Food Storage: Properly storing food items and ingredients in designated areas, following food safety guidelines and rotation procedures. Labeling and dating food items to ensure freshness and prevent waste. Kitchen Organization: Organizing kitchen equipment, utensils, and supplies in an orderly manner to maximize efficiency and productivity. Maintaining cleanliness and tidiness in storage areas and workstations. Assisting with Kitchen Maintenance: Assisting with routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning kitchen equipment, changing filters, and disposing of kitchen waste. Notifying the kitchen supervisor of any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues. Following Safety Procedures: Adhering to safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and foodborne illnesses. Using kitchen equipment and tools safely and correctly, and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary. Team Collaboration: Collaborating with kitchen staff and other team members to achieve common goals and objectives. Communicating effectively and supporting colleagues during busy periods or challenging situations. Customer Service: Providing friendly and helpful service to kitchen staff and other team members. Responding to requests and inquiries promptly and professionally. Flexibility: Being willing to assist with various tasks and duties as needed, including washing dishes, cleaning surfaces, and helping with food service. Adapting to changing priorities and schedules in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Professionalism: Maintaining a positive attitude, reliability, and professionalism in all aspects of the job.
