Food Preparation: Assist in basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, slicing, and chopping vegetables, fruits, and other ingredients. Measure and portion ingredients according to recipes or instructions provided by chefs. Dishwashing and Cleaning: Wash dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using dishwashing equipment. Ensure that all items are cleaned thoroughly and sanitized according to food safety standards. Keep dishwashing area clean and organized. Kitchen Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen by keeping workstations, countertops, and storage areas clean and free of clutter. Dispose of waste and recyclables properly and ensure that trash bins are emptied regularly. Equipment Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and cleaning of kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors. Follow proper procedures for cleaning and sanitizing equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Assistance during Service: Support kitchen staff during meal service by helping to plate and garnish dishes, replenish ingredients and supplies, and assist with any other tasks as needed to ensure smooth service. Inventory Management: Assist in receiving, storing, and organizing food supplies and ingredients. Monitor inventory levels and notify kitchen staff when supplies need to be replenished. Rotate stock and check for expiration dates to minimize waste. Compliance with Food Safety Standards: Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times. Follow proper handwashing procedures, wear gloves when handling food, and maintain cleanliness in accordance with health department guidelines. Assistance with Special Requests: Assist kitchen staff in fulfilling special dietary requests or accommodating food allergies and intolerances. Pay attention to specific instructions provided by chefs or servers to ensure guest satisfaction. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other kitchen staff members, including chefs, cooks, and servers, to ensure efficient teamwork and communication. Assist colleagues as needed and contribute to a positive work environment.
