Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting chefs and cooks with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, peeling potatoes, preparing salads, and portioning ingredients. Dishwashing and Sanitation: Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using dishwashers, ensuring they are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards. Cleaning and Sanitizing Surfaces: Cleaning kitchen surfaces, countertops, and equipment to maintain a clean and hygienic workspace. Stocking and Storing Supplies: Ensuring all kitchen supplies, ingredients, and utensils are stocked and organized for efficient use by kitchen staff. Assisting During Service: Supporting kitchen staff during meal service by fetching ingredients, garnishes, or utensils, and helping plate dishes for service. Trash and Waste Management: Emptying trash bins, segregating recyclables, and ensuring proper disposal of kitchen waste according to sanitation guidelines. Maintaining Kitchen Equipment: Assisting in the cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and refrigerators. Following Food Safety Protocols: Adhering to food safety and hygiene practices, including proper handling of food, storage of perishable items, and maintaining cleanliness standards. Assisting with Inventory: Helping with inventory control by monitoring stock levels, rotating perishable items, and informing supervisors of shortages or overstocks. Adhering to Health and Safety Standards: Following health and safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintaining a safe working environment. Teamwork and Communication: Collaborating with kitchen staff, chefs, and servers to ensure efficient workflow and timely preparation of food orders.
