Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, peeling fruits, portioning ingredients, and marinating meats under the supervision of the chef or cooks. Dishwashing: Washing dishes, utensils, pots, and pans by hand or using dishwashing equipment, and ensuring they are cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly for reuse. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Cleaning kitchen surfaces, equipment, and appliances regularly to maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping countertops, and sanitizing food preparation areas. Stocking Supplies: Restocking kitchen supplies such as ingredients, condiments, and disposable items, and ensuring they are organized and readily available for use by kitchen staff. Assisting Cooks: Assisting cooks and chefs with various tasks as needed, such as fetching ingredients, carrying equipment, and following instructions to help with food preparation and cooking. Food Storage: Storing food items properly in designated storage areas, following food safety guidelines to prevent contamination and spoilage, and rotating stock to ensure freshness. Trash Removal: Emptying trash bins and disposing of waste properly, including sorting recyclables and organic waste, and maintaining cleanliness in trash disposal areas. Assisting with Cleaning Equipment: Assisting with cleaning kitchen equipment such as stoves, grills, ovens, and fryers, and following proper procedures for cleaning and maintenance. Compliance with Safety Regulations: Adhering to safety regulations and procedures in the kitchen, including wearing appropriate protective gear, handling equipment safely, and following fire safety protocols. Teamwork: Collaborating with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient operations and contribute to a positive work environment. Learning and Development: Learning new skills and techniques from experienced kitchen staff, and seeking opportunities for growth and advancement within the culinary field.
