Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as washing, peeling, chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients. Preparing ingredients according to recipes or instructions provided by chefs or cooks. Dishwashing and Sanitization: Washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment using manual or mechanical dishwashing methods. Ensuring all items are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and stored properly. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, including countertops, work surfaces, floors, walls, and equipment. Following cleaning protocols and health and safety standards to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses. Stocking and Organization: Assisting with stocking and replenishing kitchen supplies, ingredients, and inventory. Organizing storage areas, cabinets, shelves, and refrigerators to optimize space and efficiency. Kitchen Assistance: Providing assistance to chefs, cooks, and kitchen staff as needed during food preparation and service. Retrieving and delivering ingredients, utensils, and equipment. Assisting with plating, garnishing, and finishing dishes. Trash Removal: Emptying trash bins, recycling bins, and compost containers regularly and disposing of waste in designated areas. Sorting recyclable materials and compostable waste according to recycling guidelines. Assisting with Cleaning Tasks: Supporting kitchen staff with deep cleaning tasks, equipment maintenance, and kitchen organization projects. Cleaning ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen appliances as directed. Compliance and Safety: Adhering to food safety regulations, sanitation guidelines, and workplace safety protocols. Using personal protective equipment (PPE) when handling cleaning chemicals or performing tasks that may pose safety risks. Communication and Teamwork: Communicating effectively with kitchen staff, servers, and management to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow. Collaborating with team members to meet production goals and maintain kitchen efficiency. Customer Service: Providing friendly and courteous service to kitchen staff, coworkers, and other team members. Responding promptly to requests and inquiries and assisting with guest interactions as needed.
