Job description

Food Preparation: Assisting with food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, slicing meats, and preparing ingredients for cooking. Following recipes and instructions provided by the chef or kitchen supervisor. Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment. Cleaning countertops, work surfaces, and kitchen appliances to ensure a hygienic environment. Stocking and Organizing: Stocking kitchen supplies, ingredients, and inventory as needed. Organizing storage areas, refrigerators, and pantry shelves to ensure ingredients are easily accessible and properly labeled. Assisting Cooks and Chefs: Providing support to cooks and chefs during meal preparation, including fetching ingredients, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes. Assisting with plating and garnishing dishes as directed. Dishwashing: Operating dishwashing equipment or handwashing dishes, pots, and pans. Ensuring that dishes are cleaned thoroughly and dried properly before storage or use. Kitchen Maintenance: Assisting with routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning kitchen equipment, appliances, and ventilation systems. Reporting any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the kitchen supervisor. Trash Removal: Collecting and disposing of kitchen waste, food scraps, and trash in designated receptacles. Emptying trash bins regularly and ensuring that waste is properly segregated and disposed of according to regulations. Inventory Management: Assisting with inventory management tasks such as receiving deliveries, checking inventory levels, and rotating stock. Notifying supervisors when supplies or ingredients need to be replenished. Following Safety Protocols: Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and foodborne illnesses. Following proper handling and storage procedures for perishable foods and hazardous materials. Assisting with Special Events: Providing support during special events, banquets, or catering functions as needed. Assisting with setup, service, and cleanup before, during, and after events. Team Collaboration: Working collaboratively with kitchen staff and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks. Communicating effectively and assisting colleagues as needed. Adaptability: Being flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Willingness to take on new tasks or assist with different kitchen duties as needed. Time Management: Managing time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
