Job description

Policy Management: Manage insurance policies for the organization, including property insurance, liability insurance, employee benefits, and other types of coverage. Review existing policies, negotiate terms with insurance providers, and renew policies as needed. Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and liabilities faced by the organization and assess their impact on insurance needs. Conduct risk assessments to determine appropriate insurance coverage and risk management strategies. Claims Management: Oversee the claims process for insurance policies, including filing claims, coordinating with insurance adjusters, and ensuring timely resolution of claims. Advocate for the organization's interests during claim negotiations and settlements. Insurance Compliance: Ensure compliance with insurance regulations, laws, and industry standards. Stay informed about changes in insurance regulations and update policies and procedures accordingly to maintain compliance. Budgeting and Cost Management: Develop and manage budgets for insurance premiums and related expenses. Monitor insurance costs, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate favorable rates with insurance providers to optimize insurance spending. Insurance Portfolio Analysis: Analyze the organization's insurance portfolio to evaluate coverage adequacy, gaps in coverage, and opportunities for optimization. Make recommendations for adjustments to insurance coverage based on risk exposure and business needs. Employee Education and Training: Provide guidance and education to employees about insurance policies, coverage options, and claims procedures. Conduct training sessions or workshops to ensure employees understand their insurance benefits and responsibilities. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with insurance brokers, agents, and other insurance-related vendors. Evaluate vendor performance, negotiate contracts and service agreements, and ensure vendors deliver high-quality services and support. Disaster Preparedness and Recovery: Develop and implement disaster preparedness plans and protocols to minimize risk and ensure business continuity in the event of natural disasters, accidents, or other catastrophic events. Data Analysis and Reporting: Collect and analyze insurance data, claims statistics, and loss trends to identify patterns and insights. Generate reports and presentations to communicate insurance-related information to senior management and stakeholders. Legal Liaison: Serve as a liaison between the organization and legal counsel regarding insurance matters, including contract review, compliance issues, and claims litigation. Collaborate with legal advisors to address insurance-related legal concerns and disputes. Continuous Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve insurance processes, procedures, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness. Implement best practices and industry standards to optimize insurance management practices.
