Job description

Staff Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of housekeeping staff, including room attendants, housekeepers, janitors, and laundry staff. Assign duties, schedule shifts, and provide training and guidance to ensure that all team members perform their tasks effectively. Quality Control: Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces to ensure cleanliness, orderliness, and compliance with hygiene standards. Address any deficiencies or issues promptly and take corrective action as needed. Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory of cleaning supplies, linens, amenities, and other housekeeping materials. Monitor stock levels, report shortages or discrepancies, and assist in placing orders for replenishment as necessary. Guest Relations: Respond to guest requests, concerns, and complaints related to housekeeping services in a timely and professional manner. Ensure that guest rooms are prepared to the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort to enhance guest satisfaction and loyalty. Training and Development: Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to housekeeping staff to enhance their skills and productivity. Demonstrate proper cleaning techniques and procedures, and ensure that staff adhere to safety protocols and industry best practices. Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations and standards, including OSHA guidelines and hotel policies. Monitor staff adherence to proper cleaning protocols, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and handling of hazardous materials. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure that housekeeping equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, and laundry machines, are properly maintained and in good working condition. Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues to the appropriate department for repair. Coordination with Other Departments: Collaborate with front office, maintenance, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of tasks. Coordinate room assignments, maintenance requests, and special guest requirements to provide seamless service. Performance Monitoring: Monitor the performance of housekeeping staff and track key performance metrics such as room cleanliness scores, productivity rates, and guest satisfaction scores. Provide regular feedback and coaching to staff to address performance issues and improve overall performance. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of housekeeping activities, including room cleaning schedules, inventory levels, maintenance logs, and incident reports. Prepare and submit reports to management on departmental performance and areas for improvement. Emergency Response: Assist in implementing emergency procedures and protocols for housekeeping staff in the event of fires, natural disasters, or other emergencies. Ensure that staff are trained and prepared to respond effectively to emergency situations. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings within the housekeeping department. Implement innovative solutions and best practices to enhance productivity, guest satisfaction, and overall performance.
