Job description

1. Cleaning and Sanitizing Rooms: Cleaning and sanitizing guest rooms, including making beds, vacuuming carpets, dusting furniture, and cleaning bathrooms. Replacing linens, towels, and toiletries as needed to ensure guest comfort and satisfaction. Inspecting rooms for cleanliness and reporting any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate department. 2. Restocking Supplies: Restocking housekeeping carts with cleaning supplies, amenities, and linens to ensure availability for room cleaning. Monitoring inventory levels of cleaning products and amenities and notifying supervisors when supplies need to be replenished. 3. Public Area Cleaning: Cleaning and maintaining public areas such as lobbies, hallways, elevators, and common areas. Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, and wiping down surfaces to maintain cleanliness and appearance. Emptying trash receptacles and recycling bins and disposing of waste in accordance with established procedures. 4. Laundry Services: Collecting, sorting, and laundering linens, towels, and guest clothing in on-site laundry facilities. Folding, ironing, and organizing laundered items for storage or distribution to guest rooms. Operating laundry equipment safely and following manufacturer instructions for proper care and maintenance. 5. Special Cleaning Projects: Performing deep cleaning tasks on a periodic basis, such as shampooing carpets, washing windows, or cleaning upholstery. Assisting with post-construction cleaning, renovation projects, or event setups as needed. Following specific cleaning protocols and safety procedures for specialized cleaning tasks. 6. Maintenance Support: Notifying maintenance staff or supervisors of any maintenance issues or repairs needed in guest rooms or public areas. Assisting with minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or tightening loose fixtures. Keeping cleaning equipment, tools, and supplies properly maintained and organized. 7. Compliance with Health and Safety Standards: Following established safety protocols and procedures to prevent accidents, injuries, and exposure to hazardous materials. Adhering to health and sanitation guidelines, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and cleaning chemicals. Participating in training programs on health and safety practices, infection control, and emergency response procedures. 8. Customer Service and Communication: Interacting with guests in a courteous, professional manner and responding to guest inquiries or requests promptly. Communicating effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments to coordinate work activities and address guest needs. Providing assistance and support to guests to ensure a positive guest experience and satisfaction.
