Job description

Cleaning and Sanitizing Rooms and Common Areas: Dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping floors, and cleaning surfaces such as furniture, fixtures, windows, and mirrors. Sanitizing and disinfecting high-touch surfaces, including doorknobs, light switches, and handrails, to prevent the spread of germs and maintain hygiene standards. Bed Making and Linen Management: Changing bed linens, making beds, and ensuring fresh linens are provided for each new guest or resident. Laundering and maintaining stock of towels, bedding, and other linens, ensuring they are clean and well-organized. Bathroom and Kitchen Cleaning: Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, showers, and countertops. Cleaning kitchen areas, including sinks, countertops, appliances, and cabinets, and disposing of garbage and recycling properly. Room Setup and Preparation: Setting up rooms and common areas for new arrivals, including arranging furniture, replenishing amenities, and ensuring everything is in place for guests or residents. Trash and Waste Management: Collecting and disposing of trash, recycling, and hazardous waste according to facility guidelines and environmental regulations. Sorting recyclable materials and ensuring waste bins are emptied regularly. Maintaining Cleaning Equipment and Supplies: Ensuring cleaning tools, equipment (such as vacuum cleaners, mops, and dusters), and supplies (such as cleaning agents and disinfectants) are stocked, maintained, and used correctly. Reporting any maintenance or repair needs for cleaning equipment and facilities to management. Reporting and Communication: Notifying supervisors or management of any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards observed during cleaning duties. Communicating effectively with colleagues and other staff members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient workflow. Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Following established health and safety protocols, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and using cleaning chemicals safely. Adhering to infection control measures, especially in healthcare settings, to minimize the spread of infections and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff. Customer Service and Guest Interaction: Providing friendly and courteous service to guests or residents, responding to their requests, and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally. Maintaining a positive and welcoming atmosphere to enhance the overall guest experience. Attention to Detail and Time Management: Paying attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and organization of all areas.
