Job description

Patient Flow Management: Managing the flow of patients throughout the hospital, from admission to discharge, to ensure timely access to care and optimize resource utilization. This includes managing bed occupancy, scheduling surgeries and procedures, and coordinating transfers between units or facilities. Staffing and Scheduling: Determining staffing requirements for different departments based on patient volume, acuity, and service demands. Developing staffing schedules, assigning duties, and managing workforce deployment to maintain adequate coverage and support patient care needs. Emergency Department Management: Overseeing operations in the emergency department (ED) to ensure prompt assessment, treatment, and disposition of patients presenting with urgent medical conditions. Implementing protocols for triage, patient flow, and coordination with other hospital units. Operating Room Management: Managing operating room (OR) schedules, surgical case coordination, and perioperative services to maximize OR utilization and optimize surgical throughput. Ensuring availability of necessary equipment, supplies, and personnel for surgical procedures. Clinical Support Services: Coordinating ancillary services such as laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and rehabilitation therapy to support clinical care delivery. Ensuring timely and accurate test results, medication dispensing, and therapeutic interventions. Supply Chain Management: Managing hospital inventory, procurement, and distribution processes to ensure availability of medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals. Implementing inventory control measures, vendor management strategies, and cost-effective purchasing practices. Facility Management: Overseeing maintenance, repair, and upkeep of hospital facilities, including buildings, grounds, and infrastructure. Ensuring compliance with safety codes, building regulations, and environmental standards to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Information Technology (IT) Infrastructure: Managing hospital IT systems, networks, and electronic health records (EHR) to support clinical operations, data management, and communication. Implementing cybersecurity measures, disaster recovery plans, and technology upgrades to enhance operational efficiency and protect patient information. Quality and Performance Improvement: Implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety, clinical outcomes, and satisfaction. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), conducting root cause analyses, and implementing evidence-based practices to drive continuous improvement in hospital operations. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and licensing requirements governing hospital operations. Conducting internal audits, regulatory inspections, and staff training to maintain compliance and mitigate risks. Patient Experience and Satisfaction: Implementing strategies to enhance the patient experience, satisfaction, and engagement throughout the care continuum. Soliciting patient feedback, addressing concerns, and implementing service excellence initiatives to improve overall patient satisfaction scores. Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Response: Developing and maintaining emergency preparedness plans to respond effectively to natural disasters, public health emergencies, and other crises. Conducting drills, training sessions, and simulations to test response capabilities and ensure readiness to handle emergencies.
