Job description

Hardware Installation: Install, configure, and upgrade computer hardware components such as central processing units (CPUs), memory modules (RAM), hard disk drives (HDDs), solid-state drives (SSDs), graphics cards, and peripherals (printers, scanners, etc.). Network Setup: Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks (Wi-Fi). Install and configure network devices including routers, switches, access points, firewalls, and network cables. Server Administration: Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux). Set up and manage server roles and services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file sharing, and remote access. Network Security: Implement security measures to protect networks, systems, and data from unauthorized access, malware, viruses, and cyber threats. Configure firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and antivirus software. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and perform security audits. Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and network issues, including connectivity problems, performance issues, hardware failures, and software conflicts. Use diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and rectify problems in a timely manner. Data Backup and Recovery: Implement backup and disaster recovery solutions to protect critical data and ensure business continuity. Schedule regular backups, test backup procedures, and restore data in the event of data loss or system failure. Software Installation and Updates: Install, configure, and update operating systems, device drivers, firmware, and application software on client computers and network devices. Ensure that software patches and updates are applied promptly to address security vulnerabilities and improve performance. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of hardware and network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps. Create network diagrams, inventory lists, and technical documentation to assist with troubleshooting and future planning. User Support: Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, answering technical questions, and providing training on basic computer and network concepts. Capacity Planning: Assess current and future network infrastructure requirements based on business needs, growth projections, and technological advancements. Plan and implement network upgrades, expansions, and improvements to meet evolving demands. Compliance and Best Practices: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices for hardware and network security, data privacy, and IT governance. Stay informed about emerging technologies and trends in hardware and networking. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with IT team members, network engineers, system administrators, and other stakeholders to coordinate projects, share knowledge, and address technical challenges. Communicate effectively with non-technical users to explain technical concepts and solutions.
