Job description

Network Setup and Configuration: Design, deploy, and configure computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and wireless networks. Install networking equipment such as routers, switches, access points, and firewalls to establish connectivity and enable data transmission. Hardware Installation: Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware components, including desktop computers, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, and peripherals. Assemble hardware components, connect cables, and install drivers and software to ensure proper functionality. Network Security: Implement security measures to protect network infrastructure, data, and systems from unauthorized access, malware, and cyber threats. Configure firewalls, VPNs (Virtual Private Networks), and intrusion detection/prevention systems to safeguard network integrity and confidentiality. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues reported by users or detected through monitoring systems. Use diagnostic tools, command-line utilities, and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes and implement solutions. System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as hardware upgrades, software updates, and system patches, to ensure optimal performance and security. Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and network traffic to identify and address potential issues proactively. Data Backup and Recovery: Implement data backup solutions to protect critical business data from loss or corruption. Configure backup schedules, perform data backups regularly, and test backup integrity to ensure recoverability in the event of data loss or system failure. User Support: Provide technical support and assistance to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, answering technical inquiries, and resolving connectivity problems. Offer training and guidance to users on IT best practices and usage of IT resources. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of hardware inventory, network configurations, system configurations, and troubleshooting activities. Document network diagrams, system diagrams, and user manuals for reference and compliance purposes. Vendor Management: Coordinate with hardware vendors, software vendors, and service providers to procure IT equipment, software licenses, and support services. Evaluate vendor proposals, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness. Security Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies related to IT security and data protection. Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk assessments to identify security gaps and implement remediation measures. Disaster Recovery Planning: Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and procedures to mitigate the impact of IT outages, data breaches, or natural disasters. Establish backup systems, recovery strategies, and contingency plans to minimize downtime and data loss. Continuous Learning and Development: Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and best practices in hardware and networking.
