Job description

Routine Examinations and Screenings: Perform routine gynecological examinations, including pelvic exams, Pap smears, breast exams, and screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and other reproductive health issues. Prenatal Care: Provide comprehensive prenatal care to pregnant women, including regular prenatal visits, monitoring fetal growth and development, conducting ultrasound examinations, and screening for genetic abnormalities or pregnancy complications. Labor and Delivery: Manage labor and delivery for pregnant women, including monitoring labor progress, administering pain relief, performing deliveries, and managing obstetric emergencies such as fetal distress or maternal complications. Gynecological Conditions: Diagnose and treat various gynecological conditions and disorders, including menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain, endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Contraception Counseling: Provide counseling and education on contraception options, including birth control pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), contraceptive implants, and barrier methods. Assist women in choosing the most suitable contraceptive method based on their individual needs and preferences. Infertility Evaluation and Treatment: Evaluate and treat couples experiencing infertility, including conducting fertility assessments, performing diagnostic tests, and recommending fertility treatments such as ovulation induction, intrauterine insemination (IUI), or in vitro fertilization (IVF). Menopause Management: Manage menopausal symptoms and provide hormonal therapy, lifestyle recommendations, and support for women experiencing menopause-related changes such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood swings, and osteoporosis. Gynecological Surgery: Perform gynecological surgeries and procedures, including hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), oophorectomy (removal of the ovaries), tubal ligation (sterilization), laparoscopic surgery, hysteroscopy, and colposcopy for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Cancer Screening and Prevention: Conduct cancer screenings and preventive measures for gynecological cancers, including cervical cancer screening (Pap smears and HPV testing), breast cancer screening (clinical breast exams and mammograms), and counseling on cancer risk reduction strategies. Patient Education and Counseling: Educate patients about reproductive health, menstrual cycle regulation, sexual health, family planning, pregnancy care, and menopause management. Provide counseling on healthy lifestyle behaviors, risk factors for gynecological conditions, and preventive healthcare measures. Collaboration and Referrals: Collaborate with other healthcare providers, specialists, and allied health professionals to coordinate care for patients with complex medical needs or comorbidities. Refer patients to specialists for further evaluation or treatment of specific gynecological or obstetric conditions as needed. Advocacy and Public Health: Advocate for women's health issues, reproductive rights, and access to healthcare services at the local, national, and global levels. Participate in public health initiatives, community outreach programs, and educational campaigns to promote women's health and well-being.
