Job description

Women's Health Examinations: Performing routine gynecological exams, including pelvic exams, Pap smears, breast exams, and screenings for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Assessing and diagnosing gynecological conditions such as ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and pelvic inflammatory disease. Prenatal and Obstetric Care: Providing prenatal care to pregnant women, including monitoring fetal development, conducting ultrasounds, and managing pregnancy complications. Attending childbirth and performing deliveries, either vaginally or via cesarean section (C-section). Family Planning and Contraception: Counseling patients on birth control options, including pills, intrauterine devices (IUDs), implants, and sterilization procedures. Performing contraceptive procedures such as IUD insertion and removal. Gynecological Surgeries: Performing surgical procedures related to gynecological conditions, such as hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), oophorectomy (removal of ovaries), and laparoscopic surgeries. Treating conditions like endometriosis, cervical dysplasia, and uterine prolapse through surgical intervention. Menstrual Disorders and Menopause Management: Diagnosing and managing menstrual disorders (e.g., irregular periods, heavy bleeding) and menopausal symptoms. Providing hormone replacement therapy (HRT) and other treatments to alleviate menopause-related symptoms. Patient Education and Counseling: Educating patients on reproductive health, sexually transmitted infections, and preventive care practices. Addressing patients' concerns, providing emotional support, and promoting overall well-being. Skills and Qualifications: Medical Education: Completion of a medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school. Residency Training: Completion of residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN), typically lasting 4 years. Board Certification: Certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ABOG) or equivalent national board. Licensure: Licensure as a physician through passing national medical licensing exams. Technical Skills: Proficiency in conducting gynecological exams, performing surgeries, and interpreting diagnostic tests (e.g., ultrasound). Communication Skills: Compassionate communication with patients, effective counseling on sensitive issues, and collaboration with healthcare teams.
