Job description

Patient Consultations: Conducting comprehensive consultations with female patients to assess their reproductive health, menstrual history, sexual activity, contraceptive use, and any gynecological concerns or symptoms. Physical Examinations: Performing thorough physical examinations, including pelvic exams, breast exams, and abdominal palpation, to evaluate the health of the reproductive organs and detect any abnormalities or signs of disease. Pap Smears and Screening Tests: Performing Pap smears and cervical cancer screening tests to detect precancerous changes or abnormalities in the cervix. Ordering and interpreting additional screening tests, such as HPV testing and STI screenings, as needed. Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnosing and treating a wide range of gynecological conditions and disorders, including menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain, vaginal infections, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), fibroids, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and pelvic inflammatory disease (PID). Contraceptive Counseling: Providing counseling and education to women about contraceptive options, including birth control pills, contraceptive implants, intrauterine devices (IUDs), contraceptive injections, and barrier methods. Discussing the risks, benefits, and effectiveness of each contraceptive method to help patients make informed decisions about family planning. Preventive Care and Health Promotion: Promoting preventive care and women's health screenings to maintain reproductive health and prevent gynecological problems. Educating patients about breast health, cervical cancer prevention, HPV vaccination, and lifestyle factors that impact reproductive health. Pregnancy Care and Prenatal Services: Providing prenatal care and obstetric services to pregnant women, including prenatal check-ups, ultrasounds, prenatal testing, and monitoring fetal development. Managing high-risk pregnancies and complications, such as gestational diabetes, hypertension, and preeclampsia. Menopause Management: Managing menopausal symptoms and hormonal changes in women approaching or experiencing menopause. Providing hormonal replacement therapy (HRT), non-hormonal treatments, and lifestyle recommendations to alleviate symptoms such as hot flashes, vaginal dryness, mood changes, and osteoporosis. Gynecological Procedures: Performing gynecological procedures and surgeries to diagnose and treat gynecological conditions. This may include colposcopy, hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, dilation and curettage (D&C), laparoscopy, hysterectomy, and minimally invasive surgeries. Sexual Health Counseling: Providing counseling and support to women regarding sexual health, sexual dysfunction, libido concerns, and intimacy issues. Addressing concerns related to sexual activity, sexual orientation, contraception, fertility, and reproductive choices. Patient Education and Empowerment: Educating patients about their reproductive anatomy, menstrual cycles, fertility awareness, and sexual health. Encouraging open communication and empowering patients to take an active role in their gynecological care and reproductive choices. Collaboration and Referrals: Collaborating with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, obstetricians, oncologists, urologists, and mental health professionals, to coordinate comprehensive care for patients with complex gynecological conditions or multidisciplinary needs. Referring patients to specialists for further evaluation, treatment, or management when appropriate.
