Job description

Routine Examinations and Screenings: Performing annual well-woman exams, including pelvic exams, Pap smears (cervical cancer screenings), breast exams, and overall health assessments. Providing guidance on reproductive health, contraception options, and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention. Diagnosis and Treatment of Gynecological Conditions: Managing and treating gynecological disorders such as menstrual irregularities, pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, ovarian cysts, and polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and genital tract infections. Pregnancy and Obstetric Care: Monitoring pregnancies through prenatal care visits, ultrasound examinations, and screening tests. Managing high-risk pregnancies, complications, and providing counseling on prenatal health and childbirth options. Family Planning and Contraception: Counseling patients on contraception methods, including oral contraceptives, intrauterine devices (IUDs), contraceptive implants, and sterilization procedures. Providing pre-pregnancy counseling and fertility assessments for couples planning to conceive. Menopause Management: Helping women manage symptoms of menopause such as hot flashes, mood changes, vaginal dryness, and osteoporosis prevention. Discussing hormone replacement therapy (HRT) options and alternative treatments for menopausal symptoms. Gynecological Surgeries: Performing surgical procedures such as hysterectomy (removal of the uterus), oophorectomy (removal of ovaries), myomectomy (removal of uterine fibroids), and surgical treatment of pelvic organ prolapse. Conducting minimally invasive surgeries, including laparoscopic and robotic-assisted procedures, to minimize recovery time and complications. Cancer Screening and Prevention: Screening for gynecological cancers such as cervical cancer, ovarian cancer, uterine cancer, and breast cancer through regular exams, imaging studies, and biopsies. Providing genetic counseling and testing for hereditary cancer syndromes. Patient Education and Counseling: Educating patients about reproductive health, menstrual hygiene, sexual health, and preventive care practices. Addressing concerns related to fertility issues, menstrual disorders, sexual dysfunction, and other gynecological issues. Collaboration and Referral: Collaborating with other healthcare providers, including primary care physicians, oncologists, urologists, and reproductive endocrinologists, to ensure comprehensive care for patients. Referring patients to specialists for specialized care when needed, such as oncology consultations or fertility treatments.
