Curriculum Development: Develop and update course curricula for graphic design programs or courses, ensuring alignment with industry standards and emerging trends. Design learning objectives, lesson plans, and instructional materials that cover essential design principles, software proficiency, and portfolio development. Course Delivery: Deliver engaging and informative lectures, presentations, and demonstrations to students, covering topics such as typography, layout design, color theory, illustration, digital imaging, and branding. Use a variety of teaching methods, including hands-on exercises, projects, and critiques, to facilitate active learning and skill development. Software Training: Instruct students on the use of graphic design software and tools commonly used in the industry, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Sketch, and other relevant applications. Provide guidance on best practices, shortcuts, and techniques for efficient and effective design work. Critiques and Feedback: Conduct regular critiques and reviews of student work, providing constructive feedback and guidance for improvement. Encourage students to think critically, experiment creatively, and develop their own unique design style while adhering to design principles and client requirements. Portfolio Development: Assist students in building a professional portfolio showcasing their design projects, artwork, and creative achievements. Offer guidance on portfolio presentation, organization, and curation to highlight students' skills, talents, and potential to prospective employers or clients. Professional Development: Stay current with developments and trends in the field of graphic design by attending conferences, workshops, and industry events. Share insights, case studies, and real-world examples with students to enhance their understanding of contemporary design practices and career opportunities. Student Support: Provide academic and career counseling to students, helping them set goals, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and navigate the job market or further education opportunities. Offer mentorship and support to students as they prepare for internships, job interviews, or freelance opportunities in graphic design. Collaboration and Networking: Collaborate with colleagues, industry professionals, and alumni to enrich the educational experience and create networking opportunities for students. Arrange guest lectures, workshops, and portfolio reviews with industry experts to expose students to diverse perspectives and real-world insights. Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments, quizzes, projects, and exams to evaluate students' comprehension, skills, and progress in graphic design. Provide timely and constructive feedback on assignments, projects, and exams to support student learning and development.
