Job description

Inventory Management: Supervise the receipt, storage, and issuance of goods and supplies in the godown. Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems, and ensure that inventory levels are adequate to meet operational needs. Goods Receipt and Inspection: Receive incoming shipments of goods from vendors, verify quantities and quality against purchase orders, and inspect items for damage or defects. Document discrepancies and coordinate with purchasing or supplier representatives to resolve issues. Storage and Organization: Ensure efficient utilization of storage space in the godown by organizing goods, materials, and supplies in a systematic manner. Implement appropriate shelving systems, labeling techniques, and inventory categorization to facilitate easy retrieval and access. Stock Rotation and Control: Implement stock rotation procedures, such as First In, First Out (FIFO) or First Expired, First Out (FEFO), to ensure that older inventory items are used or issued before newer ones. Monitor stock levels and implement controls to prevent stockouts or overstocking. Issuance and Distribution: Coordinate the issuance and distribution of goods and supplies to various departments within the resort, including housekeeping, food and beverage, maintenance, and guest services. Ensure that items are issued accurately and promptly according to departmental requisitions. Quality Control: Maintain quality standards for stored goods and supplies, including perishable items, by implementing proper storage conditions and handling procedures. Monitor expiration dates, product integrity, and hygiene standards to prevent spoilage or contamination. Safety and Security: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and security protocols in the godown to protect staff, inventory, and property. Implement safety measures, such as proper storage of hazardous materials and fire prevention measures, and enforce access controls to prevent unauthorized entry. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain godown equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and storage racks, in good working condition. Schedule regular inspections, servicing, and repairs as needed to ensure operational efficiency and safety. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, goods receipts, issuances, and stock movements using inventory management software or manual record-keeping systems. Generate reports on inventory levels, stock movements, and discrepancies as required. Vendor Management: Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery of goods and supplies in accordance with purchase orders. Negotiate favorable terms, pricing, and delivery schedules to optimize inventory management and cost efficiency. Team Leadership and Training: Supervise and train godown staff in proper inventory management procedures, safety protocols, and equipment operation. Provide guidance, support, and performance feedback to ensure team effectiveness and productivity. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings, and operational efficiencies in godown operations. Collaborate with management and other departments to implement changes and initiatives that optimize inventory management and support resort objectives.
