Job description

Inventory Management: Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods or materials in the warehouse, ensuring accurate inventory levels and proper organization of stock. Supervision: Direct and supervise warehouse staff, including warehouse assistants, forklift operators, and inventory clerks, to ensure efficient and safe operation of the facility. Goods Receipt: Receive incoming shipments or deliveries, inspecting goods for damage or discrepancies, and verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders or shipping documents. Storage and Shelving: Organize and allocate storage space within the warehouse, implementing proper shelving systems, pallet racks, and labeling to maximize storage capacity and facilitate easy access to inventory. Order Fulfillment: Fulfill customer orders or internal requests for goods, picking items from inventory, packing orders securely, and preparing them for dispatch or delivery according to established procedures. Quality Control: Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and condition of stored goods, conducting regular inspections, audits, or cycle counts to identify and address any issues or discrepancies. Inventory Tracking: Maintain accurate records of inventory transactions, including receipts, transfers, and shipments, using inventory management software or systems to track stock levels, movements, and locations. Safety and Security: Enforce safety protocols and procedures within the warehouse, including proper handling of materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and adherence to fire safety regulations and security protocols. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of warehouse equipment and machinery, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and conveyor systems, to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain documentation related to warehouse operations, such as inventory reports, receiving logs, and shipping records, and provide regular reports to management on inventory status, performance metrics, and operational issues. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing warehouse operations, such as occupational health and safety regulations, environmental regulations, and food safety standards (if applicable). Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, or efficiency gains within the warehouse, implementing best practices and initiatives to optimize operations and enhance productivity.
