Job description

Curriculum Development: Developing and planning French language curriculum based on educational standards, student needs, and learning objectives. You design lessons, activities, and assessments that cover topics such as vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation, conversation, reading, writing, and cultural studies. Language Instruction and Delivery: Delivering effective instruction in French language skills, including listening, speaking, reading, and writing. You use a variety of teaching methods and resources, including textbooks, multimedia materials, interactive exercises, role-plays, and language games to engage students and promote language acquisition. Vocabulary and Grammar Instruction: Teaching vocabulary and grammar rules and structures of the French language. You introduce students to essential vocabulary words, phrases, and idiomatic expressions, and provide explanations and examples of grammar concepts such as verb conjugations, tenses, articles, and sentence structure. Pronunciation and Phonetics: Helping students develop accurate pronunciation and phonetic skills in French. You teach students how to articulate French sounds, recognize phonetic symbols, and improve intonation and rhythm through pronunciation drills, listening exercises, and speaking activities. Reading Comprehension and Literary Analysis: Introducing students to French literature and developing their reading comprehension and literary analysis skills. You select and analyze literary texts such as poems, short stories, novels, and plays by French authors, and guide students in interpreting themes, characters, and cultural contexts. Writing Skills and Composition: Teaching students how to write effectively in French, including composing essays, letters, reports, and creative writing pieces. You provide instruction in writing strategies, organization, coherence, and clarity, and help students develop their writing voice and style in French. Cultural Studies and Civilization: Exploring French culture, history, traditions, and customs. You introduce students to French-speaking countries, regions, and communities around the world, and discuss cultural topics such as art, music, cuisine, festivals, and social norms to deepen their understanding of French culture and society. Language Immersion and Communication Practice: Providing opportunities for students to immerse themselves in the French language and practice their communication skills. You facilitate conversations, dialogues, debates, and role-plays in French, and encourage students to engage in authentic interactions and exchanges with native speakers. Assessment and Evaluation: Assessing student learning through a variety of assessment methods, including quizzes, tests, oral presentations, writing assignments, and projects. You evaluate student performance based on language proficiency levels, communication skills, cultural understanding, and progress towards proficiency goals. Professional Development and Collaboration: Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills, language proficiency, and cultural knowledge. You participate in workshops, conferences, and training programs, and collaborate with colleagues to share resources, lesson plans, and best practices in French language teaching.
