Job description

Vehicle Diagnosis: You use diagnostic tools, equipment, and techniques to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in vehicles. You perform visual inspections, conduct tests, and analyze diagnostic codes to pinpoint problems and determine necessary repairs. Repair and Maintenance: You perform a wide range of repairs and maintenance tasks to address vehicle issues and ensure optimal performance. This may include engine repairs, brake service, suspension work, transmission repairs, electrical system diagnostics, and HVAC system maintenance. Parts Replacement: You remove and replace faulty or worn-out parts and components in vehicles, such as brakes, tires, belts, hoses, filters, spark plugs, batteries, and alternators. You ensure that replacement parts are installed correctly and meet manufacturer specifications. Mechanical Work: You perform mechanical work on vehicle systems and components, including engine repair and rebuilding, transmission servicing, steering and suspension repairs, exhaust system repairs, and drivetrain maintenance. Electrical Work: You troubleshoot and repair electrical systems in vehicles, including wiring, sensors, switches, relays, and electronic control modules. You diagnose electrical issues, repair wiring harnesses, and replace faulty components to restore proper electrical function. Diagnostic Testing: You conduct diagnostic testing and performance evaluations on vehicle systems and components to assess their condition and functionality. This may involve using diagnostic scanners, oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other specialized equipment to gather data and analyze system performance. Vehicle Inspections: You perform vehicle inspections to assess overall condition, safety, and compliance with regulatory standards. You identify and document any issues or defects, recommend necessary repairs, and ensure that vehicles meet inspection requirements before returning them to customers. Customer Interaction: You communicate with customers to understand their vehicle concerns, explain repair recommendations, and provide cost estimates. You update customers on repair progress, inform them of any additional repairs needed, and address any questions or concerns they may have. Safety Compliance: You adhere to safety regulations and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself, coworkers, and customers. You follow proper safety protocols when handling tools, equipment, and hazardous materials and ensure that vehicle repairs meet safety standards and specifications. Continuing Education: You stay updated on the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic techniques, and repair procedures through ongoing training and professional development.
